There will be 2 AWP Social Leagues in 2024- Social League tahi (1), running from early May to late June, Social League rua (2), running from late July until mid-September and Social League toru (3), running from mid October to early December. Entries will open roughly 2 months prior to the start of the leagues.

The social leagues are aimed at providing a fun, social competition for those who prefer to play at a more casual level, to enjoy playing with mates. Previous experience playing water polo isn’t needed, but you definitely need to be a strong swimmer. Registrations will be accepted from teams as well as individuals looking to join a team for the term.

Social League toru, October-December 2024

The intent for Social League toru is to run from Mid October to early December, on Sunday afternoons at Epsom Girls Grammar pool and Auckland Grammar Pool. This will be a league where masters, former players, school leavers can play weekly without having to commit too much time to training- just to pick up the ball and have a game. If you are new to water polo, you will need to be a strong swimmer in order to participate. 

We will have two slots available, one OPEN grade, for players of any age and experience level, from beginner to former player. The other slot is an EXPERIENCED grade, for players who are still playing competitively at Schools, Masters or National League level. Please note, this is a social league, NOT a competitive league and both men and women are welcome to register interest- the league will be a co-ed, mixed league.

Individual Player registration is $65 GST Inc per player. All fees are going towards covering pool cost, some necessary equipment and referees for each game. The minimum age to play is 17.
